How TukTuk with Virgílio handles your information, and the terms that apply when you book a tour.
Privacy Policy
Who runs this site
TukTuk with Virgílio is operated by Virgílio Agrela, a private TukTuk tour driver/guide based in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, registered with Turismo de Portugal under RNAAT 434/2026. For any privacy question, contact owner@tuktukwithvirgilio.com or +351 968 773 907.
Information we collect
When you use the booking form, we collect what you enter: your name, contact details (email or phone), tour choice, preferred date and time, number of people, and pickup location. If you write to us directly by WhatsApp, email or phone instead, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message.
How we use your information
We use this information only to arrange, confirm and deliver your tour, and to reply to your questions. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Payments
If you pay online, your card payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. Stripe's checkout may collect and confirm booking details (name, date, time, pickup) as part of that payment. Stripe processes this data under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. If you prefer, you can always pay in person, by cash or card, at the end of the tour instead.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track you individually across websites. It only reports aggregate, anonymous statistics (such as how many people visited a page) to help us understand what's useful on the site. Aside from anything Stripe's own checkout page may set for payment security, this site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep your information
We keep booking information for as long as needed to arrange and deliver your tour, plus any additional time required for accounting, tax or legal obligations. After that, it is deleted or anonymised.
Sharing your information
We never sell your information. We share it only where necessary to provide the service — for example, with Stripe to process a card payment — or where required by law.
Your rights
If data protection law applies to you (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), you can ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or object to how it's used. To do so, email owner@tuktukwithvirgilio.com. You can also lodge a complaint with Portugal's data protection authority, the CNPD (cnpd.pt), if you believe your rights haven't been respected.
Children
Tours are booked by adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children; a child's name may appear only as part of an adult's party size or booking details.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool or service. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
Terms & Conditions
The service
TukTuk with Virgílio provides private, guided TukTuk tours in and around Funchal, Madeira, operated by Virgílio Agrela (RNAAT 434/2026). Tours are private: your group is not combined with other guests.
Bookings and confirmation
Submitting the booking form is a request, not a confirmed booking. Every request is confirmed personally by Virgílio, by WhatsApp or email, based on availability at that date and time. Please wait for that confirmation before finalising your plans around the tour.
Prices and payment
Unless stated otherwise, the price shown for each tour is a total price per TukTuk, for up to 3 people — the total does not change whether you are 1, 2 or 3 guests. Prices are in euros (€). Pickup at a hotel or in central/downtown Funchal is free; pickup at the cruise terminal has a 5€ fee. You can pay online by card via Stripe at the time of booking, or in cash or by card in person at the end of the tour.
Cancellations and changes
Cancellation is free. We only ask that you let us know as early as you can, so the time can be offered to other guests. If your plans change, message us and we'll find a solution together.
Weather
Light rain is usually not a problem for the tour. If weather conditions are unsafe or clearly unsuitable, we will contact you to adjust the time or agree on the best solution, which may include rescheduling.
Group size and safety
Each TukTuk seats up to 3 people. For safety and comfort, total passenger weight is limited to 210 kg per TukTuk. Groups larger than 3, or over the weight limit, may need a second TukTuk — message us before booking and we can help arrange this, including with trusted local drivers if needed.
Pickup and drop-off
Pickup is available at hotels and other points within central Funchal, and at the cruise terminal (fee applies). Drop-off at the end of the tour can be anywhere in central Funchal.
Liability
We take reasonable care to provide a safe, well-maintained vehicle and a safe route. As with any road-based activity, some risk cannot be fully eliminated, and guests are asked to follow the driver's safety instructions (including seatbelt use where fitted). Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Portuguese law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
